Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about services, insurance, and scheduling.

01. Do you accept insurance?
We’re a private-pay practice. We can provide detailed superbills (with NPI and ABA CPT codes) so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement if your plan allows.

With private-pay ABA, every session is intentional, focused, and centered on your child’s unique milestones—while avoiding many of the limitations that often come with insurance.
02. Collaboration with schools/providers?
Yes. With your consent we coordinate with teachers, SLPs, OTs, and medical providers to align goals, share progress, and keep IEP/BIP plans consistent.
03. Ages served?

We support infants and toddlers ages 0–3 through parent coaching, developmental support, play and routines-based intervention, and collaboration with a child’s care team and IFSP goals when appropriate.

We also serve children and teens (3 through 18 years), with programming tailored to developmental stage and family goals.

04. Where do sessions take place?
Most sessions start at home, with extensions to school/daycare (with permissions) and community settings - parks, stores, playgrounds - so skills generalize to real-life routines.
05. Cancellation policy?
We ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule so we can offer that time to another family. Same-day cancellations are billed at the scheduled rate.

Clear answers on coverage, CPT codes, receipts, and cancellations.

06. Do you provide superbills for insurance reimbursement?
We operate as an out-of-network/private pay provider. We issue monthly superbills that include provider details, NPI, and common ABA CPT codes (97151, 97153, 97155, 97156) so you can submit to your insurer. Reimbursement depends on your plan.
07. Can I use my HSA or FSA for services?

Can I use my HSA or FSA for your services?

In some cases, yes. HSA/FSA funds may be used when services are part of a medically necessary ABA treatment plan and meet your plan’s reimbursement criteria.

What types of services may be eligible?

Clinical ABA consultation may be eligible when:

  • Your child has a qualifying diagnosis.
  • Services are considered medically necessary.
  • A BCBA provides clinical assessment, guidance, and oversight.
  • Services are tied to a treatment plan and documented accordingly.
  • Services are billed using appropriate healthcare CPT codes.

For services that meet these criteria, we can provide a superbill, which may be helpful when submitting for reimbursement.

What services are not HSA/FSA eligible?

Non-clinical services are not eligible, including:

  • General parent coaching or education
  • General behavior support not tied to a treatment plan

These services focus on practical, research-informed strategies to support daily life but are not part of a medical model and do not include diagnosis or CPT codes.

Will I be reimbursed?

We cannot guarantee reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend contacting your HSA/FSA provider directly to confirm eligibility.

Do you bill insurance or work directly with HSA providers?

No. We do not bill insurance, contract with insurers, or communicate directly with HSA/FSA administrators.

Do you provide superbills?

Yes, for qualifying clinical services when arranged in advance. Superbills are not available for non-clinical parent education services.

What if my claim is denied?

Reimbursement is determined by your HSA/FSA provider. While we’re unable to issue refunds if a claim is not approved, we’re always happy to support you with any documentation your plan may need.

08. Which CPT codes are typically used?
ABA services commonly map to 97151 (assessment), 97153 (adaptive behavior treatment), 97155 (treatment with protocol modification), and 97156 (family adaptive behavior guidance). Codes may vary based on clinical indication and payer requirements.
09. How do invoices and payments work?
Invoices are sent monthly for services delivered and are due upon receipt. We accept credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards. Receipts and superbills can include diagnosis and CPT codes on request.
10. How do cancellations affect billing?
We understand that schedules can change and ask for as much notice as possible when canceling or rescheduling. Same-day cancellations are billed at the scheduled rate and are generally not eligible for insurance reimbursement. When possible, we’ll do our best to offer a reschedule within the same week.
